Removing a record here removes the link. The file itself stays on the site hosting it until that site takes it down, so for anything you want gone from the internet you need to send this and contact the host, which is named on every record.

What a copyright notice must contain

These are the six things 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)(A) requires.

  1. The GayStash address of each record. One per line. "Your whole site" is not identification and cannot be actioned.
  2. The work being infringed, identified well enough for us to find it.
  3. Your full legal name, and whether you are the owner or acting for them.
  4. Contact details: email, postal address and telephone.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them, with your electronic signature.

Filing a notice you know to be false carries liability under §512(f). If you are unsure whether something infringes, say so. We would rather receive a question than a sworn statement that is wrong.
